Flowers Fade Series

About

The Flowers Fade Series is a collection of works centered around the ideas of life, death, and purpose in this fleeting life. I began creating the series simply out of my love for using plant material within the weaving process to create fine art pieces. As I worked on the pieces, I found myself meditating on Ecclesiastes - a book in the Bible about the frailty of life and how we are but dust . My goal is that each piece reminds those looking at it of that truth. However, I don't want us to stop there. While Ecclesiastes begins by calling everything meaningless, it continues to speak of how each moment is a gift given by God. In conclusion, whatever you do, let it be done with thankfulness of heart and giving glory to the One who gave you that gift whether it be eating dinner, going to work, laughing with friends, or mourning loss. Our life is short. All of it is a gift. To God be the glory.
