Hi! My name is Catelyn Perkins and I am so excited that you’re here. In addition to my favorite job of being a wife and a mother, I am a painter and fiber artist currently living in Vicenza, Italy. I attended the Savannah College of Art and Design from which I graduated in June of 2022 with my BFA in Painting and minor in Fibers.

 

My artistic journey has been an exploration of my connection with the world around me and moments that have shaped me. My work is a blend of paint, natural dyes and woven materials inspired by photographs and sweet moments encapsulating the ephemeral beauty of cherished memories and this fleeting life.

 

I really believe that as humans we are made in the image of a great Creator and are given the command to go forth and create, to care about beautiful things, and pay attention to tiny details. What a sweet opportunity as His image bearer to imitate Him by making new things that reflect the beauty He has already made. Art is all around us - in the sky, the trees, the animals, and in every human being’s beautiful self. So for me, to create and make things beautiful is what the Lord Jesus has made me to do as I seek to reflect Him and honor Him in my practice.
